The McLaren 720s GT3 is one of the most recognisable racing cars in the world. Purpose-built for endurance competition, with an aero package and power output that most road cars can only dream of. When the opportunity came to design and install a full custom livery on one, we treated it with the respect it deserved.
The Brief
The client wanted a livery that captured the drama of the car itself — bold, fast, and visually striking from every angle. Racing liveries have to work at speed, from a distance, and in photographs. They also have to work across the complex aerodynamic surfaces of a GT3 car, which presents a significant design challenge.
Design Phase
Our in-house design process began with detailed 3D reference images of the 720s GT3. Every panel was mapped out before a single pixel was placed. The design was developed across multiple rounds of review, with the client providing feedback on colour choices, graphic placement, and overall composition.
Print and Production
Once the design was signed off, we moved to production. High-resolution digital printing onto premium motorsport-grade vinyl ensures the finished product looks exactly as intended — vibrant, sharp, and capable of withstanding the punishment of competitive racing.
Installation
Fitting a full livery to a GT3 car is an intricate process. The aerodynamic components — splitter, rear wing, diffuser, side sills — all require careful attention. Each section was aligned precisely against the design template, ensuring graphic elements flowed correctly across panel joins.
The Finished Car
The finished McLaren 720s GT3 is nothing short of stunning. A properly designed and executed racing livery transforms a race car into a piece of moving art — and this one is no exception.
